Using this Help Module

The eAIM Help Window

The eAIM user help screen includes two window areas (“panes”): The Contents pane is displayed along the left side of the window and the larger Topic pane is displayed to the right of this and occupies the majority of the window (Note: To allow the help window to be displayed on screen with eAIM system screens, on initial display, the Contents pane may be collapsed (hidden). To display the Contents pane, click and drag the window frame to make the Help window wider). The Help Window's Tool Bar, displayed above the Topic pane, contains the Previous Topic and Next Topic buttons.

Context-Sentitive Help (CSH) topics are displayed as the default "landing" topic for the eAIM system screen being viewed when the user clicked the Help link. The topic provides information and links specific for that eAIM system screen and can include screen-specific user procedures, descriptions of available functions, screen reference information, and background content, placing the current eAIM screen within a context. The layout of this topic is intended to provide the most commonly used content and links near the top of the page and more detailed content toward the bottom of the topic's page. Many topics also use visually grouped screen areas (some displayed as expanding areas [+]) to collect related or similar content.

Searching for Content within Help

The Search field, located in the top right corner of the Help window, allows you to search all topics for words or terms that you provide. The results are displayed within the Topic pane.

User Roles and Help Topics

Since the eAIM system employs role-based and data-based restrictions to user functions, role-specific content is grouped together, and this is reflected by the structure of the help module's Contents.

Topics that apply to specific user roles can be viewed by any help module user, but the system will restrict access and permissions to the actual eAIM screens/functions using each specific user's assigned eAIM system user role.
